Saturday Workshops/Dialogues/Presentations:
- Special Collections with Max Yela (Saturday, 7-19 / 11:30 AM-12 PM). Welcome and introductions led by Max Yela, Special Collections Librarian at UWM's Golda Meir Library.
- 1001 Challenge (Saturday, 7-19 / 12-12:30 PM). Max Yela and Rebecca Holderness challenge everyone at the fest to create a 48 hr. zine which may be included in programs given out at the play "1001." Subject and starter materials will be given during this presentation and they will also have a table at the fest.
- Assembling Magazines & the Death of the Editor with Stephen Perkins, Curator of Art at the Lawton Gallery at UW-Green Bay, and an art historian and artist (Saturday, 7/19 / 12:30-1:30 PM). An informal talk and discussion about the development of assembling zines, their unique editorial model and their role within the development of alternative communication networks from the late 1960s onwards. Participants will have hands-on access to an array of examples from Europe, Latin America and North America.
- Copier Tricks in 30 Min or Less with Ray Suburbia of Love In The Time of Scabies Zine and Meredith Acne of Acne Attack (Saturday, 7-19 / 1:30-2 PM). Ray and Meredith will give tips on how to use copiers to your advantage including tricks with contrast, layout, cometbus-style art, etc. They will also talk about the differences between area copy stores and which ones will offer the best deals for your project.
- One Page Zines with John Wawrzaszek of The Muse, The News, and The Noose Zine (Saturday, 7-19 / 2-2:30 PM). Hands-on workshop on making one page zines where people make their own from tutorials.
- Queer Zine Roundtable led by QZAP -Queer Zine Archive Project- (Saturday, 7-19 / 2:30-3:15 PM). Join this group discussion on Queer Zines and the surrounding community.
- Education and Zines with Tabby of Lion In A Teacup Zine (Saturday, 7-19 / 4-4:45 PM). Discussion about zines in the classroom and working with teenagers.
Sunday Films/Workshops/Dialogues/Presentations:
- Feminism Discussion with Joy Zuccarello representing Bitch Magazine and Make/Shift Magazine (Sunday, 7-20 / 1-1:45 PM).
- Zinester Economics: Valuing and Getting Paid for your work (or not) with Milo Miller and Joe Biel (Sunday, 7-20 / 1:45-2:30 PM). Join this conversation about the value of the work we do as zinesters, archivists, etc. Do we pay for photocopies? What's our time worth? Should we charge for our zines, and how much, or not at all.
- Microcosm Showcase (Sunday, 7-20 / 2:30-4:30 PM). Chris Lynch and Sparky Taylor who will present an illustrated presentation about Deep Roots Animal Sanctuary in Bloomington. Joe Biel will show films, including:

Gallery Preview (Saturday & Sunday):
A gallery preview for the retrospective exhibition of the internationally known “World War 3 Illustrated: America's Longest Running Political Comic Book,” will be on display throughout the zine fest at UWM. The show is curated by local artist and political activist Susan Simensky Bietila.

Organizer
Jessica Bublitz is the main organizer of the fest. Jessica runs Bottles on the Sill Lending Library and Distro. She's been involved in the zine world since 1998 and writes Kubba Zine, The Obsesser, and other zines. Jessica's a student at UWM and works at UWM's Golda Meir Library.
